Frequently Asked Questions

Here you will find some of the most common questions I get asked. If you have a question that I haven't answered below, please send me a message and I will happily answer it for you.

Can we meet before we book?

Absolutely! It is your ceremony and you need to be happy that I am right fit for you. Let's grab a coffee and see if we click.

What happens once you realise I am celebrant for you?

I take a $100 non-refundable deposit to confirm your booking. After this we meet up and start planning. There is a legal form to sign and we go over the logistics of your ceremony.

How far in advance can we book you?

You can book me as far as you like - usually a year to 18 months in advance.

What is the minimum timeframe for getting married?

1 month is the minimum for us to fill in the correct paperwork. There can be exceptions to this but it needs to be approved by the Australian Government's Attorney-General's Department.

Can we write our own vows?

You absolutely can! There are legal vows that are required to be said, however the rest of the ceremony is up to what you want.

Can you help us with our vows?

Yes!! I have got tools to help you create your own vows. You are able to run through your ideas with me, and I can give feedback and support as needed. If you are doing surprise vows with your partner, I am able to check these over to ensure there is a similar tone, and they complement the other.

Do we need witnesses?

Yes, two adults who can sign the paperwork with you on the day of your ceremony.

How do you create ceremonies tailored to individual couples?

This is done by getting to know you as a couple. Meeting up, having a chat. I also have a special questionnaire I send separately to all my couples that helps me create a section in the ceremony called "The Love Story". This is where we talk about what you love about each other, what you are looking forward to in being married, what annoys you about the other person etc. You are able to edit til your hearts content OR - as you do not know what your partner has written you can leave this as a surprise for your wedding day! Absolutely up to you!

What is your service area?

I am available for ceremonies in Brisbane, GC, Sunshine Coast and hinterland, Scenic Rim and anywhere in between. I love a destination wedding and always happy to talk about the possibilities.

Are you a cat or a dog person?

Just testing who is reading this... I am a dog person but I love a snuggly cat.

What legal documents do I need to get married?

Documents are needed to confirm you are who you say you are. The best documents to use for this are:

  • Original Birth certificate
  • Passport
  • divers licence

If you have previously been married and you were granted an annulment or divorce, I will also need to sight this document.

Any other questions?

Send me an email, text or call - I am more then happy to help where I can.
